We currently offer two one-day workshops - one titled "Networking Essentials" on how to build a professional network, the other titled "Web Essentials" on how to genuinely demystify everything you've always wanted to know about the Internet.
The Networking Essentials workshop is for anybody seeking to improve on their ability to build and maintain a professional network. The course covers real-world networking skills (for example tips on how to work a room at a formal networking event) plus the principles of online networking - from general Internet principles (the Internet being, of course, a network in itself) to taking advantage of the various social and professional networking sites.
The Web Essentials workshop is generally for non-Internet professionals, though we have had professionals on the course that also benefited. Topics covered include commissioning a website, project managing a website's build, the principles of strong web design, search engine optimisation, writing strong web copy and as many participant-led issues as we can fit in.
The methodology we use is influenced by Solutions Focussed training and consultancy, Arbinger training and the principles of Discovery Learning.
Action, not just Knowledge
With every course that we deliver, our primary measure of success is the degree to which, on completing the course, participants take effective ACTION that wouldn't otherwise have been taken. As such, the course isn't just about delivering relevant knowledge but is structured in such a way, and includes specific exercises, to help participants take those all-important next action steps.
Knowledge Exchange / Ideas Sharing
We assume that there's a wealth of knowledge and/or ideas among the participants and we do our best to ensure that these are shared, not just "dispensed from on high".
Open and Approachable
We do our best as trainers to be approachable at all times and open to new thinking as well as the strong possibility that we're not always right!
Future Workshops
We are likely to introduce further workshops in the near future - probably one called something like "Web 2.0 Power Up", in which we explore how you can use the latest (and largely free) online tools to facilitate your business or working life (or even domestic life) and one called "Touchspace Essentials", which will explore similar themes to the Web Esentials workshop but will be more specifically centred on learning to use our own software and it's partnership applications.
Cost
Members can attend their first two workshops for £50 and all further workshops for £99. (For corporate members multiply the above by twelve). The standard price per workshop to the general public is £225.
We also currently have a special offer on whereby members who sign up for a year's membership up front (at a cost of £50) can attend their first workshop for free.
The hire-out cost for a complete workshop for non-members, produced especially for you, to be provided for up to twelve of your employees and/or associates, is £2000.
